Adaptive Swim Frequently Asked Questions
Adaptive Swim Frequently Asked Questions:
Is Adaptive Swim covered by insurance?
Typically Adaptive Swim is NOT covered by insurance. Coverage can vary depending on your insurance plan. For questions related to your specific insurance coverage, please contact your insurance plan directly.
Do you accept Children's Long Term Support (CLTS) Waiver funding?
Yes, we do accept CLTS Waiver funding for our Adaptive Swim programs for children of Buffalo, Dunn, Chippewa & Eau Claire counties. Please work directly with your case worker to determine if adaptive swim would be covered for your child. In order to have us bill CLTS for the services, you MUST have your worker send us a referral.
Do I need to get in the water with my child?
Whether you need to get in the water with your child depends on their individual needs and comfort level. When you schedule for your sessions, you will be directed to sign the waiver and answer questions specific to your child’s needs. If an adult needs to enter the pool with their child, they will be responsible for paying to utilize the pool (per the facility’s guidelines).
What do I need to bring for my child’s Adaptive Swim session?
Please plan for the following:
A swimsuit for your child (required)
A towel for drying off afterward (required)
Goggles for eye protection (optional)
A swim cap if your child has long hair (optional)
A water bottle to keep your child hydrated afterwards (optional)
A change of clothes for after the adaptive swim session (optional)
Does my child need a swim diaper?
Yes, if your child is not fully potty trained, a swim diaper is required to ensure a hygienic swimming environment.
